Warp is a checkerboard that bulges out of the fabric as if a beach ball were pushing through, and it reads from far down the sand. It sets up on two crossing poles to give two people a spot to sit through the middle of the beach day.

The details

What you get

  • Compact two-person size

  • Packs into a small shoulder bag, 68 × 13 × 13 cm

Materials

Printed woven fabric in the Warp print; sectioned poles or sprung frame as described; peg loops and sand flaps.

Care

Shake the sand out at the end of the day, rinse the salt off with fresh water, and let it dry right through in the shade before it goes back in the bag — never pack it away wet.

  • No sun protection ratings: we do not give a UPF or any other sun protection figure for any piece. Shade is shade; keep using sun cream.
  • No wind ratings: no product is sold as wind-proof or storm-proof. Pack everything away when the wind gets strong.
  • No waterproof claims for tents, shades or blankets.

Pitching it

    Back to the wind

    Find where the wind comes from and turn the closed back of the tent or shade towards it.

  2. 2

    Open and stand it up

    Pop-ups spring open out of the bag; pole tents and shades take their poles first.

  3. 3

    Weigh it down

    Peg every loop, pile sand on the flaps or fill the corner pockets, and tension the guy lines. Pack it away when the wind picks up.

Not a toy and not for overnight camping. Never leave children alone inside. Keep the carry bag away from small children (risk of suffocation). Mark guy lines and pegs so nobody trips. Keep away from open flames and barbecues. Take it down when the wind gets strong.
