What you get

  • Two-person tipi, 160 × 160 cm base, 190 cm high
  • One central pole; mesh vent at the top
  • Door flap ties back
  • Sand flap round the base; packed 95 × 12 × 12 cm

Materials

Printed woven fabric in the Spiral print; sectioned poles or sprung frame as described; peg loops and sand flaps.

Care

Shake the sand from the fabric and out of the base flap, rinse the salt off with fresh water, and dry the whole tipi in the shade before packing it away, never wet.

Pitching it

    Back to the wind

    Find where the wind comes from and turn the closed back of the tent or shade towards it.

  2. 2

    Open and stand it up

    Pop-ups spring open out of the bag; pole tents and shades take their poles first.

  3. 3

    Weigh it down

    Peg every loop, pile sand on the flaps or fill the corner pockets, and tension the guy lines. Pack it away when the wind picks up.
